GUIDE TO THE BEST JEANS FOR YOUR BODY TYPE

WRITTEN BY ORBERABLOG ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2017. POSTED IN FASHION & BEAUTY, FEATURED

STEP INTO SUMMER WITH THE MOST FLATTERING PAIR OF JEANS YOU’VE EVER HAD!

The trick to finding the perfect pair of jeans that will make you feel great, is finding the right ones for you. So many of us buy jeans just because they look nice or because they’re the perfect color. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will flatter your shape and compliment your body because all of us are different. The key to finding the perfect jeans begins with determining which body type you are. And better yet, which jeans work best for that body type!

PEAR

Ladies with a pear body shape will generally have fuller hips, with a smaller bust, arms, and shoulders. Since the bottom half of your body is larger than the upper half, you will want to find a pair of jeans that help to contour and compact your mid-section and legs. Try jeans with a higher, contoured waistline and a sexy, darker wash to help minimize their appearance. A flared jean will help balance out your new look!

Avoid: low-rise jeans with little or no stretch

CURVY

Someone with a curvy, also known as “hourglass”, figure will have a larger bust and hips, while their waist is smaller and well-defined. The goal here will be to balance the proportion of your body, while finding a solution to “waist gapping”, which is where the jeans fit your hips and rear perfectly, but have a gap around your waist. The best way to do that is with a pair of jeans that are either slim cut or have a medium-high contoured waistband, to avoid a gap effect. The difference between a regular, straight-cut waistband and a contoured one, is that a contoured waist is designed to follow the shape of your hips and waist, creating a more natural look.

Avoid: low-rise jeans with a straight-cut waistband

SPORTY

Sporty body types are pretty evenly distributed. That means that their bust, waist, and hips are all in proportion to one another. If you’re rockin’ an athletic body shape, you should look for low-rise jeans that offer a more relaxed and slim fit. Mix it up now and then with a pair of fun and trendy boyfriend jeans! And of course, the ultra-trendy skinny jeans are always a sure thing!

Avoid: high-waisted and flared jeans

APPLE

If you have a full bust and a fuller mid-section with fewer curves on your bottom half, chances are you’re an apple shape. When you’re more top heavy, you will want to find jeans that help elongate your shape and help your body appear more proportioned. Aim for a pair of stretchy, high-waisted skinny jeans, as they are the perfect staple to just about any wardrobe. Although, you might find that a slim or boot cut might provide your look with a little more balance. At the end of the day, it’s what you’re most comfortable with!

Avoid: low-cut jeans that don’t offer much stretch, as they can cut in right at your waistline
